One February weekend in 1996, Debbie, Kristina and I drove to Reno.... to Phil and Arlene Marshrey's house to pick up a puppy that we named Lacey. Little did we know at that time where the journey would lead us.
Lacey took us to various dog shows, Debbie and Kristina learned to show from her. We met some good people at the shows. Then
with her two litters, we met some wonderful people placing her puppies. From these litters, we were introduced to the field work, agility,
tracking, all the fun things we are now doing with her "kids", "grand kids", and "Great-grand kids". All the while, Grand Dam Lacey
was happy sitting and watching. Then when Debbie started dancing, Lacey wanted a part of that action and quite well, winning her share of ribbons.
Friday, April 24, 2009, we had the privilege of taking Lacey on one last truck ride, one of her favorite things to do. Time had caught
up with our Queen. As we sat in the truck, remembering all the good times, good friends and good puppies she has given us, we said goodby and watched her cross the rainbow bridge to run and play again, with promises to see her again someday.
We would like to say thanks to the wonderful staff at UC Davis, Dr Popkin and his staff, and all the Rockville gang for being a part of her and our journey...... and it continues..........
