Hi Dan and Lynette,
Deb and Bruce recently told members of our litter of the passing of Magnus. How very, very sorry we are to hear about this news!!! A thought we had was to introduce you to one of Magnus' descendants, Hannah, as her story, as must be with all his descendants, is unique and interesting...
As you may know...we are the proud caretakers of Hannah (To the Rescue) and wanted to share a tiny bit of her as it relates to her being such a part of Magnus' constitution and being.
Hannah is a bubbly bright, gloriously goofy, charasmatically charming, poignantly pretty and heartily happy girl. She started a bit late on birds (6 months into the season) and Dad and Hannah had a couple rounds of heart-to-heart talks soon thereafter..."Dad", she said, "I love the outdoors, the running part AND the fact that there are super duper nice folks out here (esp Deb and Bruce for which she adores!!!), but... the mud, the rolling, uneven terrain, the birds that seem to always get away, the early dawn wake-up calls...can we both do something in ADDITION to this...Dad?" "Hey, what's this Versatility word mean, anyhoo?"
After that conversation, we decided that we would engage ourselves in, among other activities, hospital and convalescent visits around those facilities in which Greta, our elder states-lady Weime, frequented. Hannah immediately fell deeply into the role of Ambassador of Canine Goodwill and Bestower of Smiles and Happy Tidings To All...she just LOVES it all.
We often run and hike the hills and Hannah loves to go on point, and not always for birds... mind you, but because, I think, that she loves to show off. Its a lovely thing to watch but a bit cocky if you ask me!
She graduated a month ago from the Marin Humane Society's (6) week intensive SHARE classes whereby she demonstrated her ability in working the medical and convalescent facility therapy programs--so, she now has that certification under her collar. Yesterday, we graduated from PAWS for Reading (see her wearing her uniform so proudly in the pictures provided) and we are now Teammates at the Novato Library whereby we share the love of reading with 4-11 year olds in the Children's section of this bustling library.
Thinking we will still support and attend plenty of functions that our Weime Club and Deb and Bruce put forth...but perhaps as their first row cheering squad section...maybe more. Who knows...
We just adore all our litter mates and their people companions!!! Precious time, indeed, when we get together! And, we owe all this to Magnus and Stormey and their collective lineages...for which we will always be indebted!
We hope that through this Hannah snipnet and the thoughts and prayers we send to you...that you can gain even a bit more perspective into what legacy our most loved ones have produced, and will continue to produce forward.
Our thoughts are with you!
Best.
Jeff and Hannah
